Addressing Traffic Congestion in Woodstock

Woodstock has experienced tremendous growth, which has led to increased traffic congestion, particularly in the Downtown area. While the Hub Transformation Project implemented in 2023-2024 brought some improvements, the growing demand for both commercial and residential development continues to exacerbate traffic problems. Despite several identified projects aimed at improving traffic flow, progress has been slow.

The Main Street corridor and the Arnold Mill/Towne Lake Road area remain significant bottlenecks, especially during peak commuting hours, creating a frustrating experience for both residents and visitors.

Attainable Housing

Woodstock’s rapid growth has led to a housing shortage, with demand far outpacing the supply of both new and existing homes. Unfortunately, much of the new development caters to higher-income families, leaving middle-income earners—including police officers, firefighters, teachers, healthcare workers, and other essential professionals—struggling to find attainable homeownership opportunities in the city where they work.
