Citizen Engagement & Transparency

The city of Woodstock, GA is facing a growing disconnect between its leadership and its residents due to a lack of Town Hall meetings, inadequate responses from city council members to citizen inquiries, and insufficient transparent communication. This lack of engagement has left many residents feeling unheard and uninformed about critical decisions affecting their community, including infrastructure projects, zoning changes, and budget allocations. Without regular public forums, citizens have few opportunities to voice concerns or receive updates directly from their elected officials. Additionally, delayed or absent responses to emails further discourage civic participation and weaken trust in local governance.

Proposed Solution: A Commitment to Engagement and Transparency

As your ward 5 city council candidate i will address these issues by implementing a Citizen Engagement and Transparency Initiative, which includes:

  1. Quarterly Town Hall Meetings – Establishing open forums where residents can speak directly with elected officials about concerns and upcoming initiatives. These meetings will rotate across different neighborhoods to ensure accessibility for all.

  2. Timely Responses to Citizen Inquiries – Implementing a policy where all council members respond to emails within 48-72 hours, with public tracking of response rates to ensure accountability.

  3. Expanded Digital Communication – Utilizing social media, email newsletters, and text alerts to proactively share information and provide interactive engagement opportunities for citizens.

By prioritizing direct engagement, responsiveness, and transparent governance, this approach will restore trust between the city council and the people of Woodstock, ensuring that residents feel heard and actively involved in shaping the future of their community.

Why This Matters:

A city government should be accessible, responsive, and transparent. When residents feel heard, trust in local leadership grows, and together, we can build a stronger, more connected Woodstock.

As your Ward 5 City Council Member, I will ensure that our government listens, engages, and responds to YOU.

πŸ‘‰ Your voice matters. Let’s improve communication and build a better Woodstock together!
